☘️ Before St. Patrick was a saint, he was a survivor.

Kidnapped at 16 and enslaved for years, Patrick endured isolation, fear, and uncertainty. Yet it was in that darkness that he turned to prayer — not once, not twice, but hundreds of times a day.

His suffering didn’t break him. It became the ground where his faith and his healing took root.

In psychology we call this post-traumatic growth. Patrick might have simply called it grace.

This St. Patrick’s Day, if you’re in a hard season, know this: prayer is not just a spiritual practice, it can be a lifeline. Research shows that repetitive, grounding practices like prayer calm the nervous system, reduce anxiety, and restore a sense of safety.

You don’t have to have it all together to begin. As Patrick’s story shows us, growth is often born out of pain and suffering.
