Jonathan Dixon, LMFT Clinician - Fairfax
Jonathan Dixon received his B.A. in Philosophy from Ave Maria University and his M.A. in Marriage & Family Therapy from Evangelical Theological Seminary. Jonathan is passionate about helping clients find healing and hope as they face the suffering in their lives. He works collaboratively with couples, families and individuals to create corrective emotional experiences and to strengthen bonds with the ones who matter most. He considers himself a life-long learner of Emotionally Focused Therapy and is a strong believer in this model’s ability to transform even the most distressed relationships or painful experiences.
By leaning on the science of attachment, Jonathan comes alongside clients as they learn to identify patterns within themselves and in their relationship so they can better turn toward their loved ones or support system in times of stress or uncertainty. Jonathan is passionate about helping couples fully experience the benefits of their love relationships and creates a safe space for all clients to reach and share in new ways. In his sessions, Jonathan’s approach is evidence-based, process-oriented, compassionate, curious, and non-judgmental.
Jonathan strongly believes in the healing power of relationships which informs his focus on empowering clients to achieve their goals by exploring the connection between mental, emotional, and relational health. Additionally, he is an active member of both the American Association for Marriage & Family Therapy and The International Centre For Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy. He is a Certified Emotionally Focused Couples Therapist and Supervisor Candidate who holds a license in the Commonwealth of Virginia and has been practicing therapy for twelve years. Jonathan resides in Gettysburg, PA with his wife and three children. He joined Alpha Omega Clinic in 2013.
