G. Wells Petras is a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 20 years experience working with Families, Individuals, and Couples in Virginia and Georgia. He has worked in a variety of settings treating severe mental health disorders in community mental health clinics, outpatient behavioral health agencies, inpatient facilities. Wells has 10 years experience working for Prince William County Community Services. Wells has also worked 7 years in the Prosthetic Industry providing early intervention and education with persons with limb differences.
As a below the knee amputee, sustained during a fall in 2000, Wells has a unique and insightful perspective into grief and loss. “Having been a patient and suffering a terrible loss, I was healed through therapy and my faith.”
He completed his undergraduate degree in psychology at George Mason University where he was an undergraduate research assistant in the Developmental Psychology Program. He obtained his Master’s Degree in Psychological Services at Marymount University. Wells was honored to be the Graduate Students Commencement Speaker.
He is excited to have joined the Alpha Omega Clinic in 2022 and enjoys being able to integrate his faith to treat clients holistically. He is an active parishioner at the All Saints Catholic Church and lives in Manassas with his wife and their 3 children.
