Matt Englefield, LPC Clinician- Alexandria

Matt Englefield is a Licensed professional counselor in Virginia. He completed his undergraduate degree in psychology at Franciscan University where he was president of the Psychology Honors Society. He obtained his Master’s Degree in Counseling at Franciscan University. He has worked in a variety of settings treating severe mental health disorders in community mental health clinics, outpatient behavioral health agencies, and inpatient facilities. He has been a member of the INOVA behavioral health team for 9 years and served as the Director of Therapeutic Programs at INOVA Fairfax. He has extensive experience in treating substance abuse disorders and managed the detox program at INOVA’s Comprehensive Addiction Treatment Services (CATS). While working at the hospital, he ran family groups, provided clinical supervision, and trained fellow clinicians in dialectical behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and mindfulness practices.
He also has a passion for leadership and career counseling. While working as a DoD contractor, he attended American Military University and obtained a Masters in Business Admission (MBA). Throughout his career, he has enjoyed working in business development, management consulting, and securing grants for substance abuse programs. He began working for Alpha Omega Clinic in 2012 and enjoys being able to integrate his faith to treat clients holistically. He is an active parishioner at the Basilica of St. Mary in Old Town Alexandria and lives in Alexandria with his wife and their 4 children.
