Dr. Cristina Melendez, Psy.D Clinician – Fairfax
Dr. Cristina Melendez is an English and Spanish speaking bilingual clinician who works with adults, children, couples, and families. Dr. Melendez is sensitive to the cultural and faith backgrounds of her clients and uses a person-centered and faith-based integrative approach to therapy. She has a passion for sharing knowledge by providing psycho-education on topics including parenting skills, stress management, and acculturation issues.
Dr. Melendez has 12 years of experience in different settings, including schools, hospitals, and community mental health. She values comprehensive care and collaborating with other professionals involved in her clients’ care as needed.
Dr. Melendez completed specialized pre-doctoral training working with children ages 1 to 6-years-old and their families at the Children’s Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. Her post-doctoral training at Catholic Charities Diocese of Arlington focused on providing multicultural counseling and wraparound services for adults and families. Dr. Melendez received her M.S. in Clinical Psychology in 2009 and her Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology in 2017 from Divine Mercy University. She is currently working towards licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
